Woodside Bolthole sits on a south facing hillside above the River Wye. It has three bedrooms (sleeping up to 8) and is located at the bottom of a private lane, just 3 miles from Hay on Wye. The views on a clear day stretch as far as Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons and on most days the Black Mountains and Hay Bluff can be clearly seen.
We, three generations of family extended the original stone cottage in 2016 adding a galleried kitchen and dining area with bifold doors and full height windows onto a patio and lawn. The bi-fold glass doors concertina right back to open up the whole side of the new extension to the stone-flagged terrace. The views and light make even time inside this space feel like time outside. Birds in the hedgerow, kites above, we’ve even seen deer pop up the bridal path.
For a handful of weeks each year Woodside Bolthole is available to rent. Less than 2 hours from Bristol and 3.5 hours from London this is a perfect place to unwind.
