Three is the magic number. Three generations, Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and three miles from Hay.
KITCHEn
Small but perfectly formed the kitchen sits at the heart of the building and of life here. The high level Clearview wood burner will keep you toasty in the winter months whilst the full width bifold doors flood the space with light; blurring the boundaries between inside and outside. The tiles are encaustic reclaimed and Spanish, the work surface reclaimed lab tops, the crockery vintage and the pans top quality. There’s a small adjoining utility room with freezer and washing machine. No dishwasher but good gloves and local eco washing up liquid to hand.
sitting room
In the original cottage this space is cosy and welcoming with original flagstones and open fireplace with a wood burner. Decor includes vintage lamps, a Batik blind made by Freddi, a comfy sofa, leather poofs, an upright arm chair and two vintage wooden arm chairs covered with local sheepskin and Gujarati blankets. No TV but a good spot for fireside reading.
reading gallery
The gallery links the two spaces and the the views from here are captivating. Take a pew on the reading bench and if you can keep your eyes on the page (the views are distracting) this is a bright spot for reading a book. We like to roll out a yoga mat here too.
